After reading dehumidifier reviews I realized how much I just learned. I did buy a dehumidifier a few years ago and thought I did the right thing. Knowing what I learned today, I understand the reason my basement still smells moldy. The fact is, I bought the wrong sized unit. I have a pretty large basement. I bought what I could afford. It was a dehumidifier, so I assumed I did the right thing. I didn’t know the size of my basement is going to determine the size of the dehumidifier I should have bought. I bought a 30 pint which is a small dehumidifier, when I should have bought a large which is a 75 pint dehumidifier. That’s why it isn’t doing a complete job and why I have to empty it so often. It can’t keep up. I still have some mold although it isn’t like what it could have been without a machine at all. I’ll take the small one upstairs and buy the right one for the basement. Reading dehumidifier reviews opened my eyes.
