DUI College Student Kills Atlanta Police Officer
Last night, January 24, 2012, a woman was arrested for DUI following the fatal accident involving an Atlanta Police Officer. The 26 year veteran police officer was assisting another officer by handling traffic at an accident scene when she was struck and killed by the 22 year old driver. Friends of the driver who were interviewed on the news stated that they had warned her not to drive drunk just before the fatal accident. Atlanta DUI attorneys caution people not to get behind the wheel if they have had anything at all to drink.
Now, this 22 year old girl is in jail and facing charges of vehicular homicide. The victim of the accident herself was the mother of a 22 year old college student. Her mother gave an interview this evening saying that her daughter had loved her job as a police officer. She was a loving person who was always willing to help others.
